Brief Description:  Nose strut fairing, towbar attachment

Fabricated and installed the nose strut fairing, ONX-L05-08. The print calls for .025 6061T6, but I only had some .016 2024 ALCLAD so I used that. Not a structural part so should be fine but perhaps a little more prone to pebble dings.

The Beechcraft tow bar arrived today, Aero Fabricators part M-340-103, purchased from Aircraft Spruce. The tow bar is designed to slip onto 1/4" studs on a Beechcraft strut. I drilled and tapped 1/4-28 holes in the upper nose pant hole (L05-06) and into the strut fork. I cut the head off an AN4-14A bolt and threaded it into the strut fork with LockTite and a jamb nut on the inside. The stud can be seen in image 2. I had to do some bending/tweeking of the tow bar to fit, but works great. The tow bar collapses and will easily fit in the bottom of baggage compartment after I add some Velcro securing straps.

Re-torqued the prop after the run the other day. I've had an email from another prop owner that says the A's on his prop don't align in his installation. I found there are two sets of A's on my prop. The aft ones align when installed correctly, but the ones on the front side do not. I updated my 1/2/14 entry with a picture.

Sent in an order to the EAA for their versions of the airframe, engine and prop logs. Supposedly they are designed specifically for homebuilt aircraft entries.
